VoiceForge ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

  • Account information: Your email address and name when you sign up.
  • Uploaded content: Audio files, video files, URLs, and text you submit for processing.
  • Generated content: Transcripts and content outputs we produce from your uploads.
  • Voice profile data: Writing samples you provide to build your brand voice profile.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and general interaction data to improve the product.
  • Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never store card details on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To transcribe your uploaded content using the OpenAI Whisper API.
  • To generate platform-native content using OpenAI's language models.
  • To build and maintain your brand voice profile using vector embeddings stored in our database.
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe.
  • To send transactional emails (job completion, account notices) via Resend.
  • To improve our service and fix bugs.

3. OpenAI API Usage

Your content is processed through the OpenAI API for transcription and generation. OpenAI's data usage policies apply. As of the date of this policy, OpenAI does not use API-submitted data to train its models by default. Your data is transmitted securely and not stored by OpenAI beyond the duration of the API request.

4. File Retention

Uploaded audio and video files are stored in encrypted cloud storage and automatically deleted after 30 days. Transcripts and generated content are retained as long as your account is active. You may delete any content at any time from your account.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the third-party services required to operate VoiceForge: OpenAI (transcription and generation), Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication), and Resend (email). Each provider processes data under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

6. Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
  • Correction: Update your name or email from your account settings.
  • Portability: Request an export of your generated content.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and access controls. No system is completely secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of VoiceForge after changes constitutes acceptance.
